Hellenistic Natal Astrology Certificate:
The Hellenistic Natal Astrology Certificate is an intermediate-level group of courses that will support students in developing greater skills and accuracy in their astrological practice and in becoming active participants in the broader community’s process of reconstructing Hellenistic astrology.
All courses at Kepler College are taught in English unless noted otherwise. Proficiency in English is required for all students.

This certificate series provides a comprehensive foundation in Hellenistic natal astrology, giving students a strong command of Hellenistic astrology principles and theories through direct engagement with text in live classes and an active online learning community. Students will gain proficiency in creatively applying Hellenistic astrology to modern life within their astrological practice, learning to delineate a natal chart using an array of Hellenistic techniques. The student will experience reading and critically reflecting upon ancient source texts, gaining an understanding of how to synthesize their knowledge into coherent and meaningful natal chart delineation, whether for personal insight or professional astrological practice.
Program Objectives:
Explore the rich tradition of Hellenistic Astrology:
Become familiar with various authors, theories, and principles contributing to the body of Hellenistic astrology by reading and commenting upon text, and learning from instructors who will teach students how to utilize the ancient wisdom of Hellenistic astrology in their contemporary practice.
Understand Key Hellenistic Astrology Techniques:
Gain a thorough understanding of essential Hellenistic astrology natal techniques, such as being able to assess planetary condition, understand and apply aspect theory, and synthesize various zodiacal and chart rulerships into coherent delineations that provide meaningful insights and guidance.
Apply Hellenistic Astrology in Practice: students will gain firsthand experience in creatively applying Hellenistic astrology within a contemporary astrological practice, increasing the accuracy of their astrological interpretations and enhancing their ability to address a variety of practical concerns through their use of different techniques.
Why Study Hellenistic Astrology?
In the 1990s, a group of astrologers and translators reignited interest in Hellenistic astrology through the groundbreaking translation efforts of Project Hindsight. This work revitalized the study of Western horoscopic astrology by reconnecting it to its ancient roots, which span over 2,000 years. Hellenistic astrology originates in ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece, but its beginnings remain mysterious. Mythical figures such as Hermes Trismegistus, Asclepius, Nechepso, and Petosiris are often cited as influential forefathers who helped shape its transmission into the modern era.

By completing this certificate program, students will:
Gain understanding of foundational Hellenistic astrology concepts:
Students will deepen their understanding of the fundamental principles of Hellenistic astrology, including the underlying theories that underpin natal astrology concepts such as essential dignity, planetary condition, zodiacal rulership, and aspect configurations.
Master techniques in Hellenistic natal astrology:
Students will gain skills in a variety of Hellenistic natal astrology techniques, enabling them to judiciously interpret and delineate natal charts, and giving them a solid foundation upon which to further develop their natal astrology practice through learning timing techniques.
Apply Hellenistic astrology to contemporary life:
Students will gain the ability to apply ancient astrological concepts and techniques to the complexities of modern life, enhancing their capacity to provide meaningful insight into a variety of contemporary concerns through their personal and professional practices.
The Practicum requires attendance at all classes, and the course is the last course to be taken after thirty-five (35) credits have been successfully awarded. All courses are five (5) credits unless otherwise specified.
